One arm dumbbell row correct form
Posted by Miller
For years I've done one arm rows with the dumbell close to the body. I have been able to increase my weight regularly without much difficulty.
I was recently approached by a seasoned lifter (late 50's) who told me that I was not getting the most out of this exercise to build the size and width of my lats. He suggested that I pull the weight out (with my elbow bent) away from my body. I found that this technique really isolated the lats to the point where I felt a good pump even though I had to decrease the weight I was using.
Has anyone tried this technique?.

Thanks Miller! Sounds like it would reaaly contract the lats better - I'll give it a try. I think I recall seeing Dave Draper perform them this way in the Three More Reps book.
