Off-Season Diet

I recently received a request to post my current off-season diet. That sounds like a pretty good topic for this time of year. However, many people will soon be trying to shed pounds if they haven't started already. The diet below is used to gain lean muscle weight. It won't result in in weight loss.

It's important to realize that if you are trying to add muscle, it's important that you don't limit your caloric intake too much. If you start adding too much bodyfat, you just simply reduce the portions of your food.

Meal #1 (7:30am): 6 egg whites, 1 yolk, 1 200 calorie bagel, Twinlab Dual Tab, 2 Glucosamine + CSA, 1 VS-10, 1 Calcium 1000mg.

Meal #2 (10:00am): Opti-Pro Meal

Meal #3 (12:30pm): Large turkey breast sandwich, fat free pretzels or two cans of 6oz water packed tuna and a few pretzels.

Meal #4 (4:30pm): Opti-Pro Meal

Meal #5 (7:00pm): Any regular meal. Pizza, italian pasta dish, fried chicken, steak, hamburgers, etc. I just eat whatever I want at this meal. 2 Glucosamine + CSA, 3 VS-10.

Meal #6 (9:30pm): Optimum 100% Whey Protein or ISS Research Complete Whey mixed with 8oz of skim milk. Two scoops of the protein powder.

This diet is high in protein and allows me to add muscle without getting fat. I usually keep cardio work in at least 3 times per week for 25-30 minutes.
