4 Must Have Supplements

Article care of midwestsupplements.com

With all of the hype surrounding new supplements these days, it's easy to get lost when trying to design your sports nutrition program. So many great new products are on the market, it's hard to determine which ones are the most effective for adding lean muscle mass to your body. While I take several different products and cycle various supplements throughout the year, four mainstays are almost always in my diet.

No sports nutrition program is complete without a great multi-vitamin/mineral supplement. I prefer to take the Twinlab Dual Tab. The Optimum Nutrition Daily One Complete is a good product also, but the Dual Tab slightly edges it when comparing minerals and taking into account the time released factor. The Dual Tab is a hard vitamin/mineral product to beat.

There is no way I could get enough protein throughout the day without having a quality protein supplement. I rotate through different brands here to keep the taste fresh. However, I usually stick with Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein and their Opti-Pro Meal meal replacement. Optimum Nutrition knows protein and they sell more than anyone! For variety I will throw in Complete Whey Power from ISS Research and Ultramet from Champion Nutrition.

If haven't tried L-Glutamine Powder yet and you're trying to achieve the most muscular physique you can, then you ought to give it a shot. L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in skeletal muscle. Adding supplemental L-Glutamine to your diet should help your recovery process and fill your muscles out. I notice a much fuller and tighter physique when taking L-Glutamine. I started using this product several years ago on the recommendation of natural bodybuilding legend Skip LaCour and have had it in my nutrition program ever since. I take both the Optimum Nutrition and ISS Research brands. It just depends on how much money I want to spend at the time.

Creatine Monohydrate is still the king for performance enhancing supplements. My strength, bodyweight, and muscle mass all go up when using creatine. It doesn't matter which form I use either. However, I do notice the best results when using the ISS Research Effervescent Creatine. I do cycle creatine. I will take it for about 8 weeks and then go off for 2-4 weeks.

I will always cycle in other ergogenic aids like Methoxylon, Proxylon, Tribulus, ZMA, and the various prohormones from time to time to try and get an extra boost, but the above four supplements are almost always in my program. Good luck formulating your supplement program and have a great Thanksgiving!
