How Many Times Should I Train Each Body Part Per Week?

This question comes up alot. It's also a confusing topic to most people. There are several schools of thought around on this subject. You can hear recommendations anywhere from train each body part 3 times a week to train each body part once every 10 days.
I've found through trial and error and experience training people that you need to take into consideration how long the lifter has been training. Contrary to popular belief, I've found that a more experienced lifter needs to actually train less frequently for optimal gains. Whereas, the novice needs more frequent bouts with the iron to keep producing results.
As a general rule I would say:
0-6 months training - 3 times per week.
6 months - 2 years - 2 times a week.
2-5 years - 1 to 1.5 times per week.
5+ years - 1 time per week or less.
Try to schedule your program around this and see how it works for you. Of course, you'll need to make modifications to best suit your schedule and recuperative abilities.
