Training Around The Holidays

Article care of midwestsupplements.com

Well, since the holiday season is amongst us, I felt a good tip of the week would be how to do with training and dieting during the holiday season. First and foremost, I'd like to say, "Don't beat yourself up over it." If you have to miss a workout or two because of Holidays don't think your gains are going to come to a screeching halt or that you'll be set back. More than likely taking a few days off will help you more than hurt. It will give you some time to relax and spend with your family also.

The main thing I do is plan ahead. I try to figure out a week in advance what days the gym will be closed and then restructure my workouts so that I still hit each body part at least once per week. That often means working out of different days or combining body parts which usually aren't combined. I try to keep the total length of the workout approximately the same amount of time (1-1.5 hours), so if I have to throw extra body parts in, I just reduce the number of sets and rest time between sets.

As far as dieting goes, if you don't have a contest coming up, then just enjoy yourself. Holidays are special times during the year and there is no reason to spoil them by adhering to a strict diet. Just make sure that you are still eating 4-5 times a day at least and don't overdo the sweets.

Enjoy the Holidays!
