Are half squats effective?

I have difficulty getting all the way down on my squats. When I reach a certain point my technique suffers. I tried focusing on a spot on the wall to keep my body in line but it doesn't always work.
Is it possible to get results from doing only half squats?

In my opinion full squats rock! Frankly you will be missing out a lot by resigning yourself to half squats. Try dropping your poundages. It sounds like your technique suffers because you have too more weight loaded on the bar.
Like any weightlifting exercise master the technique before the weight.
