The Basics for Mass

Article care of midwestsupplements.com

There is a young man who lifts at my gym that has amazing genetics for bodybuilding. I spotted him a few years back and thought he was preparing for a local college bodybuilding show and was surprised to find out that he was only 15! I hadn't seen him for a few months when he came in the other day. I had heard reports that he had put on a considerable amount of muscle since I had last seen him.

I immediately noticed that he was much thicker all over. However, what struck me the most was his traps and back in general. Those muscle groups had appeared to double in size. When I made a comment about it, he said, "I don't even train back! Everytime I do it gets smaller." Well, I wasn't buying that. There has been too much growth in that one area.

After a few minutes, the kid comes back over and says, "Hey! Did I tell you that I set the school record in the Power Clean?!?" I started laughing and said, "No. No wonder your back and traps are so thick! You've been training like a mad man on Power Cleans. That would classify as back work."

Remember to stick to the basic exercises when trying to put on mass. This guy had made incredible strides by simply doing one basic exercise for the body part. Granted, his genetics are phenomenal. Squats, Bench Press, Deadlifts, Straightbar Curls, Military Presses, and even Power Cleans are all good exercises which can form basis for any mass building program.
