Weight Gain

Article care of midwestsupplements.com

I was recently contacted by someone who was given some advice to take 19-Norandrostenedione to gain some weight. This person rejected the idea of drinking protein drinks or weight gain shakes. They just wanted an easy route and taking a few capsules of something a day sounded like a great idea. Let's get this straight. Taking pills alone, regardless of what pills, is not going to produce any signifigant amount of weight gain.

To gain substantial amounts of body weight, you are going to have to take in more calories than you currently are. Taking handfuls of calorie empty pills is not going to help you pack on weight. Certain products may help you put on quality weight versus fat, but without extra calories, they won't produce any signifigant changes in body weight.

In a weight gain program, what you need is a diet rich in calorie dense foods. Calorie dense foods include peanuts, peanut butter, butter, bacon, cheese, whole eggs, and red meats in general. I didn't say foods that will score high with the American Heart Association. I said calorie dense. Our goal here is to gain weight, not reduce our cholesterol level.

Of course, you needn't eat these types of food at every meal either. However, try to eat at least 5-6 times a day and include a protein, carbohydrate, and fat source at each meal. Include calorie dense foods as often as possible. Try to get at least 1.25 - 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight. You may use a proten drink, meal replacement, or weight gain drink for a meal or two throughout the day if you don't have time to prepare food.

Be consistent with your diet, weightlifting, and lifestyle. You'll gain weight eventually, but it does require effort.
